ahhh, summer

Summer is coming to an end, folks. I know most moms can't wait for school to start but I'm feeling pretty sad about it. My little Caleb will be going to Kindergarten!!!!! Audrey will be in 1st and emma in 3rd. I know it's obvious but I said to eric the other day, "I think I'm just realizing that I really have spent all day every day with that little boy and now he's going to be GONE!" As much as I feel ready for him to go in some ways, I'm going to miss him so much. He's excited, though, so that's good. School her in Oakland starts at 8:40 and gets out at 2:50. It's actually good timing. We don't have to rush to get out the door in the morning and Eli will go down for a 12:00 nap and be rested by 2:30 when we need to go pick the kids up. Then we'll have the afternoon/evening together. Caleb and Emma will be playing soccer this fall, but the U6 teams don't have practices. Audrey will be getting back into ballet with a once-a-week class. Eli and I will be doing fun toddler things with other moms/kids.....library story time, zoo, children's art museum, cleaning the house, playdates and such. As nostalgic as I feel about the kids going back to school, I'm also excited for this new phase with just having one kiddo at home. It's been a long time. Also I'm going to get a toddler seat for the back of my bike and a big basket for the front. Who knows where Eli and I will go this fall?
